The parents of our puppies are fully health tested.  Genetic disease panels are completed through Paw Print Genetics - both the Essential and Supplemental panels.  OFA Hip and Elbow testing and certifications are completed at the age of 2 years.  Annual CAER eye examinations are completed by a certified canine ophthalmologist and results are certified through OFA.  After completing full health testing, our dogs have been issued OFA CHIC numbers certifying that all breed applicable health testing has been completed.

Our puppies make their first visit to our veterinarian when their dewclaws are removed and tails docked around 3 days of age.  Shortly after this visit, we begin Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) on the puppies following the Puppy Culture methods and continue through the remaining weeks with socialization and enrichment activities.  These activities expose the puppies to many sights, sounds, textures, and environments.

Our puppies are raised in our home during the first few weeks and then later transferred to our climate controlled nursery with a camera system so we can keep a careful watch over mother and pups when we have to step away.
Our litter box and play pen are kept immaculately clean which makes potty training much easier.  The puppies recognize from a young age that there is an appropriate place to go potty and poop by learning to use our litter boxes.  This also speeds up the process of potty training.

Here are a few of the things that we work on with the puppies: riding in a car, becoming familiar with household noises, rebounding from startling noises, socializing with other animals, experiencing grooming and bathing, and much more!

After weaning, the puppies are placed full time on Kinetic Puppy with scheduled feedings that makes potty training a lot easier.  We like to ensure that each puppy is getting their share and also want to maintain healthy weights.  They are administered dewormers regularly.  At 7 weeks old, they are started on Interceptor Plus, a heartworm preventative that includes parasite control, and receive their first vaccination series.  Puppies are taken to our veterinarian for a final examination just a few days before going home to their new families to ensure that they are in excellent health.

We prepay our puppies' AKC registration and also microchip our puppies through AKC Reunite with prepaid lifetime enrollment.  This is our gift to families to make sure their puppies have the best possible chance of being reunited with their families in case they ever become lost.

Puppies are available to join their new families between 8 and 9 weeks of age, no sooner.  We love for our families to come pick up their puppy.  If this is not possible, we may be able to assist with meeting you part way.  We do not fly our puppies.  Many of our families fly into the Kansas City airport and then drive home with their new puppy.  Australian Shepherd puppies are too large to be shipped in cabin.

We desire that our puppies are placed into homes where they will live inside and have access to a large enclosed backyard for daily exercise.  Our dogs and puppies are like our family members and we desire that level of love and care to be continued in their new home.  We also desire that our puppies are provided basic obedience classes as it provides a great training foundation.  We love that our families keep us updated after the puppies go home and we enjoy watching them grow up!
All companion puppies are sold on AKC Limited Registration on a spay/neuter contract.  Families are required to provide proof of spay/neuter at one year of age.
